We are pleased to announce that we are continuing the “Kicks for Kids” shoe donation program to help underprivileged youth in the Philippines.
We all know that our kids grow out of their basketball shoes very quickly, and that many of these second hand shoes look almost brand new.
These shoes would be greatly appreciated by kids in the Philippines who cannot afford to buy them.
This program will be directed by Jared Conda, a former FYBA player and son of Cesar Conda, a Member of the FYBA Board of Directors.
Here’s how the Kicks of Kids donation program works:
— We will collect second-hand shoes in a donation box near the concession tables during the first three weeks of the FYBA season (starting Sunday, April 15th and continuing throughout the Spring-Summer Season). Please donate shoes that are relatively clean, and usable (for example, we cannot use shoes with holes in the soles). We will only accept BASKETBALL shoes.
— We also ask that you consider a small donation of five dollars (or whatever you can afford) to help pay for the cost of refurbishing the shoes with new shoelaces, including a pair of new socks, and shipping the shoes to the Philippines. You can make a check out to “FYBA” but put in the notation line “Kicks for Kids” program.
— We have created a website that where donated shoes can be viewed at http://kicks4kids.webs.com/
Last Fall, we collected 30 pairs of basketball shoes which were shipped to an intramural basketball league serving underprivileged Filipino youth in Cebu.
We are looking to expand the Kicks for Kids program to other parts of the Philippines and we welcome ideas of other youth basketball community organizations to with which to partner.
Let’s bring some joy and happiness to poor children in the Philippines by providing them with basketball shoes.

Sorry for the late reply. Yes please. You will be surprised how many of these kids you will be able to bring happiness. There are a lot of used shoes in here that’s going to waste which still can be very useful for the.
We wish all the best!!!
