We at FYBA are thrilled with the news of Quentin Millora-Brown being offered not one, but two Division 1 college basketball scholarships by Rice University and Mount Saint Mary’s.
Also, he has received interest from Hofstra and James Madison.
Quentin becomes the second FYBA player to receive a D-1 offer. The first was Brandon Chauca, who currently plays for the University of California Bears (Brandon is only the 10th player of Filipino heritage ever to play Division 1 basketball).
Quentin (or “Q” for short) and the Brown family have been with FYBA since 2012. Q has played for our Washington DC teams during NABA 2012-2014. Likewise, his younger sister, Sasha played in NABA 2013-2014. Additionally, his parents have been long-time volunteers for FYBA. His father, Bryan, has served as a coach and his mother, Rosette, as part of Team Mom.
We are very proud of Q’s success. He provides a shining example to our younger FYBA players that they too can achieve their dreams through hard work and dedication.
FYBA is the ONLY Fil-Am basketball organization to produce TWO Division 1 college basketball players and we are confident that we will produce more in the future!
Watch Quentin in action as he plays for FYBA Juniors team as we represent Washington DC in the biggest Fil-Am tournament in the country – NABA 2016 to be held in Spooky Nook Sports Complex, Pennsylvania on September 2 to 4, 2016 (Labor Day weekend).
I’m a Filipino Assistant Coach at Campbell University in North Carolina and would like to recruit Quentin to our school.
